How to map a network share for AYGHOST

AYGHOST use IPX protocol for the network transmissions. The server that has network shares must have "NWLINK IPX/SPX/Netbios" and NWLink Netbios" protocols installed.

To save an image file to a network share or to restore an image file from a network share, you need to first map the network share as a local drive. Please follow these steps to map a network share for AYGHOST

1. Boot up the AYGHOST CD will launch the program automatically. To map a network share, we need to do it at DOS command prompt. Click on Exit to return to the command prompt.

2. At the command prompt, type “net logoff” to terminate the default network session started by AYGHOST bootable CD.

3. Type “net logon” to start a new network session. You will need the administrator rights to the server that has the network shares. Provide a user name and password who has administrator rights on the server.

4. Select NO when you are asked to save the password list. 5. At the command prompt, type “net use x: \\server\share” to map the network share to the local drive X.

6. At the command prompt, type “AYGHOST.exe” to launch the AYGHOST again, now you should be able to access the network share as the X drive to save image files or restore image files.
